Grandfather Semu & Eneke-Alish Huaute

My name is Eneke-Alish Huaute, I am the wife of Grandfather Semu Huaute, healer (Aluhtek). He was born in the Painted Cave in the mountains of Santa Barbara in 1908. We were married for 34 years. I had eight years of training to learn to be the wife of a Medicine Man like Grandfather Semu. This training took place on 140 acres back in the Mountains of San Luis Obispo, California. We had a traditional Chumash Wedding Ceremony. Grandfather said he was only allowed to have one of these in a lifetime.

In our years together Grandfather Semu and I performed the Genetic Cord Cutting Ceremony, Spiritual Name Givings, House Clearings and Chumash Wedding Ceremonies.

Grandfather Semu passed on November 11, 2004 at 96. Grandfather told me to carry on his work which I have been doing since 2006. He guides me and works through me.

The Genetic cord cutting is: when you are born, the physical umbilical cord separates you from your Mother, but there is another cord. This other cord holds the genetic memories back generation after generation, and can also hold negative memories and patterns.

This genetic cord cutting "cuts off all the negative, not the good." The truth cannot be destroyed. No matter what you do you cannot destroy the truth. This Ceremony enhances the good memories and will let you go on to be free, and also frees your ancestors. When I complete the Genetic Cord Cutting Ceremony I then ask the people if they want a Spiritual Name Giving. There are some people who have already received their spiritual name, which is good. Most people want their Spiritual Name Giving, giving them protection and guidance through nature.

I have been asked to do House Clearings because people have problems in their homes. The first thing I do is work with the ancestors and if there is any negativity in the home, it leaves.

The Chumash Wedding Ceremony was taught to Grandfather many years ago when he was a young man. This ceremony involves a two-spouted Wedding Vase, a Wedding Blanket with fringe, a wooden bowl and wooden spoon and a male and female walking stick, representing old age and the circle of life they walk.

I also perform the Full Moon Ceremony that Grandfather Semu taught me and I sing the sacred Moon Song.

I also perform the Sunrise and Sunset Ceremonies. They too are sung in the sacred language.

Grandfather Semu now has me traveling up and down the coast of California doing this work. I have been in one sacred place in California to another: from the coastal areas north of San Francisco to the marina of Seaside, to Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, down the Big Sur coast, to Atascadero, Ojai and on south to Encinitas and San Diego.

I have been sharing Grandfather Semu's wisdom through two short segments on DVD. Grandfather speaks and then afterwards I explain the Genetic Cord Cutting Ceremony.
